Excellence PMC

About

Hello — I'm Daleep Kumar.

I run Excellence PMC, a fractional practice giving startups and mid-scale IT companies the delivery leadership they need — project management, business analysis and technical direction — without the cost and commitment of full-time senior hires.

Twenty years across startup and enterprise delivery, working remotely with teams worldwide from Bangalore.

Why this exists

Most delivery failures are not caused by weak engineers. They are caused by an absent delivery function — nobody owning scope, sequencing, dependencies and the honest status of the work.

In large companies that function has a name and a headcount. In startups and growing IT firms it usually falls to a founder or a lead engineer who is already fully occupied, so it gets done in the gaps between everything else. The result is predictable: dates slip, scope grows, and nobody can say why.

Hiring for it properly is expensive and slow. A senior programme manager is a significant salary plus recruitment fees, and two to four months before they start. Most teams do not need that full-time — they need the discipline two or three days a week, starting now.

That gap is what this practice exists to fill.

How I work

Four principles I do not compromise on.

Diagnose before prescribing

Every engagement opens with an audit. Recommending a process before understanding how your team actually works is guesswork with an invoice attached.

Execution over theory

I am not here to run a workshop and leave a slide deck. I sit in your sprints, chase the blockers and own the reporting.

Work towards being unnecessary

The goal is a delivery system your team can run without me. An engagement that creates permanent dependency has failed, even if it keeps billing.

Say the uncomfortable thing

If the problem is a founder bottleneck, an unrealistic roadmap or a bad hire, I will say so. You are not paying for agreement.

Who I work with

Engagements work best where there is a real product being built, a team already in place, and a decision-maker who wants an honest assessment rather than validation.

good fit
  • Seed to Series B startups
  • IT services firms, 20–500 people
  • Teams of 5–100 engineers
  • Founders ready to delegate delivery
not a fit
  • Pre-product idea validation
  • Teams wanting hands-on coding
  • Staff augmentation by headcount
  • Anyone seeking a rubber stamp

Let's find out if we are a fit.
